MANILA, Philippines – The state-run weather agency said on Sunday that it is closely monitoring the movement of two low pressure areas (LPAs) inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), while the prevailing southwest monsoon (habagat) continues to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across the country.

Weather specialist Robert Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the first LPA disturbance was spotted some 90 kilometers (kms) east-northeast of Daet, Camarines Norte.
Based on Pagasa’s data and analysis, it has a ‘very slim’ chance of developing into a tropical depression as it was more likely to dissipate in the next 24 hours, Badrina said in a 5 a.m. briefing., This news data comes from:http://nxc-nt-xrk-fm.erlvyiwan.com
Meanwhile, the other LPA, some 900 kms east of Eastern Visayas, has a low chance of becoming a tropical depression over the next 24 hours, the national weather bureau said.

“But we are closely monitoring this weather disturbance as it still has a possibility to intensify in the coming days,” Badrina said.
According to Pagasa, the trough of the LPA near Carmarines Norte has been affecting Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Quezon where cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms would prevail.
On the other hand, the southwest monsoon or ‘habagat’ would be experienced over Metro Manila, MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan), Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, the rest of Visayas, and the rest of CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) where similar atmospheric conditions would be likely.
The rest of Luzon would likely have partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated rain showers due to the localized thunderstorms, Pagasa said.
